School Week 2015

Flat Pack chair design

The School of Architecture Industrial Design and the Built Environment has just concluded a week long event for its school week celebration. The theme for this year's school week is "Developing Integrated Design for Global Environmental Concerns" dubbed as "I+Design" . The focus of the theme is the joint effort of the three programs to work together in addressing the environmental concerns of the built environment. Highlight of the week-long activities is the flat pack chair design competition participated by groups of students from the programs of B.S. Architecture, B.S.

This year's ARIDBE School Week was celebrated from February 29 to March 4 2016. Faculty and students of the School of Architecture, Industrial Design and the Built Environment attended a Holy Mass at eight o'clock in the morning at the St. Rita Chapel of the Mapua Institute of Technology, Intramuros campus. Various activites were held throughout the weekl high loighted by the opening ceremony and ribbon cutting of the exhibits of the students' works including the design competition for the Hidden Paradise Pavilion to be built in Macabebe Pampanga.

Professional Practice Talk by Ar. Ainza

California based, former faculty member Ar. Arnold Ainza visited the school last August 12, 2015 and shared his years of professional experiences with the senior students of architecture. His talk emphasizes the importance of learning history of architecture and detailings under building technolgy courses because they prove to be very useful in practice. He also showed the importance of being able to draw by hand despite his prowess in computerized presentations.

2015 Frosh Week

A general orientation for the freshmen was held during the first week of classes. The event was organized with the help of the various student organizations of the school. UAPSA, Graphics Club and the ARID Student Council with the support of the Cardinal Singers and Mapua Tech Cheerping Cardinals prepared a 3-hour program at the Mapua's renovated gymnasium. At the end of the program the student organizations took the frosh on a campus tour.

Asian Architecture Festival

The 4th Annual Asian Architecture Festival which falls on the 4th quarter of every school year celebrated with the kite motif. This event was held from June 15 - 18 , 2015 at the South Circle of the Mapua Institute of Technology. Dean Gloria B. Teodoro delivered an inspirational talk. Highlight of the opening ceremony is the Costume Parade of contestants coming from the different sections taking HOA (History of Architecture) 3.
