This year's ARIDBE School Week was celebrated from February 29 to March 4 2016. Faculty and students of the School of Architecture, Industrial Design and the Built Environment attended a Holy Mass at eight o'clock in the morning at the St. Rita Chapel of the Mapua Institute of Technology, Intramuros campus. Various activites were held throughout the weekl high loighted by the opening ceremony and ribbon cutting of the exhibits of the students' works including the design competition for the Hidden Paradise Pavilion to be built in Macabebe Pampanga.
California based, former faculty member Ar. Arnold Ainza visited the school last August 12, 2015 and shared his years of professional experiences with the senior students of architecture. His talk emphasizes the importance of learning history of architecture and detailings under building technolgy courses because they prove to be very useful in practice. He also showed the importance of being able to draw by hand despite his prowess in computerized presentations.
A general orientation for the freshmen was held during the first week of classes. The event was organized with the help of the various student organizations of the school. UAPSA, Graphics Club and the ARID Student Council with the support of the Cardinal Singers and Mapua Tech Cheerping Cardinals prepared a 3-hour program at the Mapua's renovated gymnasium. At the end of the program the student organizations took the frosh on a campus tour.
